JACOB & MARIA'S SESSION . .

Well, hello everyone and welcome to my very first BLOG POST! I decided this would be the perfect session to start with considering I shot both: maternity and now newborn!! So, before we begin with this new addition to their family, can we take a moment to admire how my girl looked while pregnant?! I mean, bombshell. I had the honor & privilege of documenting their journey to parenthood, starting with the MATERNITY SESSION. I worked with Jacob & Maria in April when we spent the afternoon at Railroad Park in Birmingham, AL. Everything about this day was great, their coordinated outfits, beautiful weather, the fabulous lighting.. I mean, seriously, she looked stunning...just scroll & you will see for yourself. Also, can I just give a huge shoutout to these two... Maria & Jacob took a serious chance on me.. I was new & am still very new into photography, but they reached out, asked me to do some photos and I think we created some serious magic. While I was editing their photos, it dawned on me that I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my photography career. Motherhood photography. I love seeing a woman, whether it be a first time mom or a veteran mom, growing a precious baby. There is an admirable strength in pregnancy & I know not everyone's journey to motherhood is easy. However motherhood happens for you, I love documenting the process. I myself have two babies & I have lost three babies, but there is something powerful and beautiful in documenting the journey to motherhood; whether it be, pregnancy, fertility, adoption or surrogacy. Motherhood is a hard job. Some days are hard, but the good days always make up for the really hard days. But, before I get on my rant... when it comes to maternity photos.. you may not like how you look, you may be swollen, sick, uncomfortable, and/or so many other emotions.... but I will tell you.. put on the dress, go get your make up done, your nails done, even your hair.. just document the journey; whether its with your phone or professional photos. The nine months come & go so quick & I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to provide images that my dear friend or anyone who reaches out to me will have to keep forever that document the start of their motherhood journey. I will tell you friends.. it only gets better.

THE NURSERY DETAILS

I love all things nursery details. You have spent months envisioning yourself in this room with your new baby. What will we make the theme? I think Maria had the sweetest theme for Jame's nursery! I love all the farm animals. I even love that the Stephen stuffed animal made the nursery..I can't wait for you to meet the real snuggly boy Stephen..

WELCOME TO THE WORLD!

Introducing. . .

JAMES ARTHUR HOFFMAN

Everyone meet James. He was born June 6, 2022 at 7:04 PM weighing 7lb 5 oz and 21 inches long. We did their entire session in his sweet nursery with the whole family...including STEPHEN! Y'all, this dog is the biggest, cuddliest bear dog I have ever met& I am here for it! If you ever ask me, "hey can my pets be in the photos?"....just know my answer is always YES! We had so much fun posing Stephen with his new baby brother. He was so gentle and so loving. Baby James did so so good and even woke up for us at the end for his to take a few little pics of those sweet baby eyes. We even got some sweet smiles towards the end. Mom & dad were such troopers with all my directions and all of my image ideas.

So, lets start with JAMES & STEPHEN...prepare everyone, my heart just couldn't take how sweet this was...

HE was the best boy! Just look at him posing with his new baby brother and mom & dad! I just can't take it... I love him so much!

Now that we have all swooned over this biggest boy, lets take a look at mom and dad with their new babe. There is nothing I love more than individual shots of the parents with their new baby. You can just see the love and admiration radiate off of parents when capturing their individual shots.. lets swoon some more....

and lets just keep on swooning at some really sweet shots of this brand new family...

and to last but not least, lets give the people what they really want. SWEET PORTRAITS OF BABY JAMES...

Well if you made it this far, thank you so much for sticking with me. I have learned that I am by no means the best blogger. I'm awkward with words, phrasing and whatever else you can think of, but I do love capturing sweet moments for families... especially newborns. Thank you Jacob and Maria for spending your morning with me and for letting my snuggle your new baby. I love him so much..

Until next time... I hope you enjoy this little snippet from baby Jame's newborn session! See ya!
