EVAN & SIERRA

These two have been a HUGE part of my photography journey! I met Sierra through my soon to be sister in law Maddie, who y'all have seen tons of photos of..& they are one of the first couples who gave me a shot at placing them in front of my camera. Thankfully, Sierra just loves photos, so she was definitely up for letting me use them to practice this hobby of mine! While their first session with me wasn't awful, I was definitely still trying to develop my style of editing & what kind of vision I wanted for my photography journey. I have added some photos below, the column on the left is from their first session vs. now & I am blown away by the difference. I always knew that I leaned towards that light & airy look and if you would have talked to me about 7 months ago I would have said oh I definitely think the photo on the left is my light & airy. But looking back, that is not the case, at least to me & what I know now! I know that when you start a new journey you aren't going to get the expected results you want right away but I love doing posts like this because I get so motivated by seeing how much I've grown. There is nothing wrong with the photo on the left, it's where I started, but the portrait on the right is definitely more what I aim to be!

Before we begin with their current session, lets take a look at the more of the first session I did with them. It was early December of 2021 and we went to a church in Argo! This was the first session I got to do after taking one of the courses, I was so proud. I took a lighting and location course and was so excited to apply it. I just love seeing how my style has evolved over the last eight months!

We spent the afternoon at Botanical Gardens and lemme tell you... it was HOT... so hot. We even got there earlier to try & miss the rain & I am glad we did, because at the end we heard that thunder rolling in.. but during the session, it really was a hot one. Evan & Sierra & myself included, were roasting in that sun. These two were such troopers. Even though it was hot, we all had a good time exploring the gardens & melting! We started near the greenhouse. There are so many cute spots there. . .

We then moved onto the Rose Garden. This may be my favorite spot within Botanical Garden. I love all the greenery, white fences and open space! There is so much versatility in this spot & you will see me here quite often with couples, families or maternity sessions at Botanical. I love the wooden awning with the greenery and I love the white metal archway with the vines & greenery too... pair it with a BEAUTIFUL couple & BOOM, you've created some magic!

This spot is also a FAVORITE of mine. I use it quite often. I think it's beautiful and it just photographs so well in my opinion!

What I love most about Sierra & Evan is that they are always down for whatever and just have a good time no matter what. So when I'm like lets do some spinning, well they spin & keep spinning until we get the perfect shot and always end with a dip! We were walking throughout the Gardens and I just so happen to see this location with the sun beaming through the trees and I am so glad we stopped and captured some sweet cuddly and spinning shots! They are just gorgeous.. I am still swooning over the two of them.

To end with, we just kept walking around and finding spots that looked really pretty. We started losing sun pretty quick and heard the thunder rolling in. It was such a fun session & they are always a joy to spend an afternoon with. I hope to always photograph these two through life events!

As always, thanks for sticking around and bearing with me as I figure out this blog thing. I have some more super cute sessions that will be hitting the blog soon, but for now, enjoy these two and how fabulous they are! Thanks for stopping by, until next time!
